STEM Bridge Program Content
As a program participant, you will be enrolled in RLE 150 Full STEM Ahead: Preparing for College Success and Research Experiences. This one credit fall course begins August 22, 2021 as part of the Research Learning Experience (RLE) bridge week. You will move in five days early, meet with faculty and peer mentors throughout the week, and be ready to take on the challenges of your first semester. We will continue to support you with a peer mentoring program throughout your first year, and you will receive a $300 scholarship for completing the course and peer mentoring program.
All expenses will be covered (housing, meals, activities) during the bridge week from August 22–27, 2021 for members of the STEM Bridge program.
Throughout the year-long program, you will have the opportunity to connect with peers in similar majors as you learn the skills needed to succeed in Biology, Chemistry, and Math courses commonly taken by students in their first two years. You will also learn key strategies for success from staff across the University, and be supported throughout the program and beyond by your peer mentor, a fellow first-generation student who knows what it is like to be in your shoes.
