Press Herald reports on pilot programs at UMaine, Machias

In reporting on a vote by the University of Maine System Board of Trustees to approve the 2021–22 budget for the System, the Portland Press Herald reported on two pilot programs at UMaine and UMaine Machias. A revenue-neutral initiative seeks to consolidate student fees to simplify billing, and a new research learning program will provide 600 first- and second-year students with tuition-free research experiences during the fall semester. The trustees also agreed to hold tuition for in-state students at all campuses at current levels for the seventh time in the last 10 years.
