College of the Atlantic Visiting Students
Application Guidelines for Visiting Students from the College of the Atlantic
We are happy that you are considering studying at the University of Maine as a visiting student. Please read the information below carefully. If you have any questions, contact the Office of International Programs at 207-581-3437.
You can apply to the University of Maine as a visiting student by filling out the online application for non-degree/visiting students available at https://staging.umaine.edu/international/international-admissions/visiting/. Note that because you are already enrolled at the College of the Atlantic, some of the information on this site for visiting students coming directly from abroad will not apply to you. For example:
- We will waive the TOEFL requirement
- You are not required to submit a declaration of finances form and supporting documents
Course Selection and Registration
Visit the following link for important information on course selection and registration https://staging.umaine.edu/international/incoming-exchange/academics/
Once you are admitted, our Study Abroad Advisor, Lauryl Cookson, will act as your advisor.
Visiting international students who attend the University of Maine under the University of Maine and College of the Atlantic Exchange Agreement will not have to have their SEVIS records transferred to the University of Maine. In other words, you will be able to study at UMaine with the I-20 you were issued to study at the College of the Atlantic. However, it is important to keep in mind that during your time as a student at UMaine, you will not be eligible to work on campus.
