2021 Early Arrival Experiences

The University of Maine is offering TWO early arrival experiences designed to get students connected with one another and the amazing resources the campus has to offer.  Although these experiences overlap with the OIP New International Student Orientation program, OIP will arrange for make-up Orientation sessions for anyone who chooses to take part in these early arrival opportunities.

Research Learning Experiences

These are tuition free, one-credit research courses offered on a variety of fascinating topics.  The course begins with a week long residency program from August 23-27 and then will meet for one hour each week during the semester.  There are more than 30  RLE courses that you can choose from, across a range of disciplines and topics. Don’t know what your major is yet? No worries: explore, try something new, follow a lead and see where it takes you. If you do have an area of interest, take a deeper dive.  These courses are designed to get you engaged in research, in creativity, in your communities, and in building a mindset that will help you solve problems for life.

Cost for the residency week:   $390
